Welcome to the summer edition of the IALE UK newsletter. This edition focuses on challenges and opportunities for landscape ecology researchers and practitioners, whether from policy developments (we have a report from April's Landscape Connections webinar on Local Nature Recovery Strategies and Peter Carey reflecting on Biodiversity Net Gain) or new research tools (Geoff Griffiths considers the new CEH hedgerow dataset). To help make sense of landscape ecology as a discipline more broadly, we're also delighted to see the launch of a new 'Landscape Learning' section of the ialeUK website, which explores what landscape ecology is and what it has to offer.
We're excited to announce that the 2025 ialeUK conference will take place in Edinburgh from June 30th to July 3rd. Please save the dates in your diaries and watch out for more details in the coming months.
There's also lots to catch up on in the June edition of the IALE International Bulletin, including details of the 2025 iale European congress in Bratislava, 2nd - 5th September. The deadline for session proposals is September 30th 2024 - something to think about over the summer! - visit the conference website for more.
