In June 2020 ialeUK launched Landscape Connections, a free online webinar series that aims to provide a relaxed and informal venue for sharing knowledge, ideas and updates in the field of landscape ecology, with a chance to say hi to new and established connections.
6 sessions have taken place so far, covering topics as diverse as peer-learning, a crowd-sourced mapping project, land cover change, habitat fragmentation modelling and landscape genetics. A full list of these, with YouTube links to watch recordings, is on the ialeUK website.
We have been pleased to welcome guests both from outside the IALE community and outside the UK. One of the benefits of online events is of course the ease of joining a meeting without the need for time-consuming and expensive travel, and we hope that Landscape Connections will continue to facilitate growth of the landscape ecology community even once in-person meetings have become possible again.
If you are interested in presenting your landscape ecology work at a future Landscape Connections event in 2021, or have any other suggestions for speakers or panels, please do get in touch with us at connections@iale.uk.
