Welcome to the February 2023 edition of the IALE UK newsletter. Our postgraduate members continue to be very active, and in this issue we have further postgraduate research highlights and postgraduate representative Caitlin Lewis also reports from the inaugural online Postgraduate Journal Club. Our research roundup highlights the IALE UK committee’s pick of recent papers. We welcome suggestions for future installments of research roundup and encourage IALE members not to be shy about putting forward their own paper. Finally for something a bit different we review an award winning boardgame with a distinct landscape ecology flavour.
In global IALE news abstract submissions are now open for the World Congress which takes place in Nairobi, Kenya from 10th – 15th July and also online as a hybrid event.
The latest IALE-Bulletin (December 2022) highlights the journal Current Landscape Ecology Reports, which "synthesizes the most significant developments in current landscape ecology research, highlighting both important areas of consensus, and important areas of current debate to underline major findings and delineate the edges of the discipline" noting that unsolicited submissions are always welcome.
The same issue contains notice of the results of IALE-Europe’s election to its Executive Committee, which took place in November. The results are also on the IALE Europe website.
