The Land Based Colleges National Consortium is a group of 28 colleges in England, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland who collaborate over the development of high quality learning resources to support effective and innovative teaching and learning in the land-based sector.
Founded in 19985 there are now over 500 resources on the consortium’s website at http://www.lbcnc.org.uk/moodle. Membership of the consortium is by annual subscription. At present this stands at £2,000. Member colleges gain:
•Access to the ‘resources library’ area of http://www.lbcnc.org.uk/moodle.
•Permission to reproduce or adapt any LBCNC resources.
•A six-weekly newsletter about Consortium activity and other information and resources relating to land-based education.
•An invitation to send delegates to the AGM and annual conference.
•Free copies of all resources produced in partnership with external organisations
•The opportunity to join JISCmail-based special interest groups. At the moment there are groups on:
– agriculture
– animal care
– animal management
– countryside management
– the E&LB Diploma
– equine studies
– horticulture
– mechanisation
– veterinary nursing.
