Getting around

Historic Edinburgh is divided into the Medieval Old Town around The Royal Mile, and the 18th Century New Town, both of which are UNESCO World Heritage sites designated for their unique architecture. If you have the time, and the weather is good it is well worth exploring both part of town.

The conference venue is in the heart of Edinburgh Old Town, and was originally built as one of the first High Schools is Scotland. It is a 10-minute walk from Waverly Station (where the field trip departs) and close to the Historic Royal Mile, the National Museum of Scotland and many pubs and restaurant to suit all tastes and budgets.
