The Welsh Assembly are developing a Natural Environment Framework (NEF). The framework will have a stronger focus on sustainable land and marine management in Wales based on the ecosystem approach. The framework will also address climate change pressures on the environment.

This new framework aims to secure sustainable and integrated management of land and water by making the long-term health of ecosystems and the services they provide central to decision making. The document sets a broad direction of travel for future work. The detailed delivery will be informed by individual work streams and take shape over the coming year.
